Last Thursday 4 April, distinguished guests, friends and family filled the Centre of Visual Arts and Research (CVAR)for the launch of my book “Women in Conflict Zones, A Collection of Interviews of Cypriot Women”.

Thank you to the Australian High Commission in Cyprus who held the launch of the book under it’s auspices and making me feel so honored. The Australian High Commissioner, Samuel Beever in his opening statements made a strong commitment towards gender equality with the “Panel Pledge”. This pledge means that from now on, the Australian High Commission will only host or accept invitations to participate in professional forums where tangible efforts have been made to encourage gender balance among speakers and panelists. Women in Cyprus have a strong ally in Australia!

The insightful presentation and reviews of the book by Antonella Mantovani, Representative of the Latin Community of Cyprus, Agnieszka Rakoczy, Polish Journalist and Dr Sophia Papastavrou Faustmann, Canadian Senior Gender Consultant, MENA Area were truly impactful and inspiring. Costa Constanti’s uplifting spirit, positive energy and exceptional moderation skills created a truly warm and interactive atmosphere.

I am so grateful for all the messages of support during the event and afterwards. Thank you!
